Statistical Engineering Program
Program Chair: Carlos Risco, MSc., P.E.
Engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, implantation, operation and management of statistical information processing systems needed for the decision making in uncertainty conditions in the different fields of human and business activities. It includes the modeling and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data for extracting useful information regarding the behavior of systems, and predicting their futures response.
Statistical engineering includes the following specialization areas:
- Data mining and analytics
- Time series analysis
- Actuarial analysis
- Computational statistics
- Quality statistical control
- Statistical decisions
