The College of Mechanical Engineering has an active Student Branch of the American Society for Mechanical Engineers ASME composed by students of the four Engineering Programs of the College. It was created in year 1985 as the first and biggest in Peru in terms of student members.
The Student Chapter organizes conferences and seminars to disseminate the latest technologies in the different fields of mechanical, mechanical-electrical, mechatronics engineering and their applications. Also, the Chapter promotes the participation of students in national and international project contests resulting winners in several of them.
The ASME Student Chapter also organizes social events to promote friendship among its members. It also collects books, magazines and relevant bibliography to be used by their members. The Chapter has a mentor who is a faculty member who provides support, guidance and orientation to organize and develop its activities. The ASME Student Chapter has assigned an office and working room.
